Position: Transport Driver (located in Meaford at the Army Training Centre – Central). Reports directly to the Transport Supervisor. Primary focus is to perform the duties of Driver – operating various vehicles on base and throughout Ontario. Supports military training through the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment.

Maintain a clean and serviceable fleet; washing, greasing, etc.

Promptly and accurately complete all forms relevant to duties.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment; transport shop floor, etc.

Display positive customer service skills at all times.

Carry a valid civilian permit and DND driver permit, stipulating the equipment they are qualified and authorized to operate.

Comply with organizational policies and procedures.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the dispatcher and the Transportation Manager.

Perform other assigned tasks, as required.

Knowledge of DND policies and procedures is an additional asset.





Work Experience Requirements

Valid CZ-Class Driver License

Clean driving record

2 years’ experience operating CZ vehicles

2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

Proficient knowledge and understanding of the correct use, maintenance and safety procedures of hand tools and powered equipment related to this type of work while applying that knowledge.

Organization and time management.

Excellent oral and written communications skills (English).

Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance.

Due to many mandatory vaccination requirements at client projects / facilities, in order to provide substantial employment by ensuring compliance with our clients’ mandates, the successful candidate may be required to validate full vaccination prior to hire.

Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance - continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.
