Oxford Learning Wesbrook Village is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.
Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school hours and/or Saturdays. A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:
Education Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
University students with tutoring, teaching or youth leadership experience will be considered
Teaching certification an asset
Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and Calculus, as well as vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Experience Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
Strong English written and oral communication skills




Robust math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details) Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
Teaching in-person (online is not available)
Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Filling in post-lesson notes
Completing daily student communication updates
Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type Part-time
Salary $22 - $28 / hour
Schedule Mondays 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Wednesdays 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Fridays 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Schedule can be expanded depending on availability but must be able to teach the above times.
