WhatsApp Group: Link Role Overview Supply Ontario is seeking an experienced Systems Testing / QA Specialist – Intermediate to support quality assurance and testing activities across large-scale technology initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and documenting testing activities across web-based, mobile, on-premise, and cloud-integrated applications. The role requires strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working across Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Hybrid, Agile, DevOps, and traditional testing environments.
The QA Specialist will work closely with project teams, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that business requirements and user stories are effectively translated into comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, scripts, and quality assurance reports. Must-Have Qualifications Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
Certification in Software Quality Engineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset
Minimum 4 years of experience performing testing for large-scale applications
Experience testing on-premise applications, web solutions, cloud-based integrations, and mobile platforms
Strong experience executing test cycles, analyzing results, and managing the complete defect lifecycle
Hands-on experience with QA and defect management tools such as:
OpenText ALM
OpenText Octane
JIRA
X-Ray
Confluence
Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience working in Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and Hybrid environments
Experience with Functional, Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing
Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and execute testing activities throughout the project lifecycle
Design and deliver detailed test cases and test scripts aligned with business requirements and project objectives
Analyze business requirements and user stories to develop comprehensive test scenarios
Prepare appropriate test data and test environments
Execute functional, regression, integration, system, performance, usability, and UAT testing
Perform testing across web-based, mobile, on-premise, and cloud platforms
Analyze test results and identify discrepancies, defects, and quality issues
Record, track, manage, and report defects through the complete defect lifecycle
Maintain accurate testing documentation and QA records using designated tools
Provide timely testing reports, quality assessments, and recommendations to project stakeholders
Collaborate with project teams, Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders
Coordinate with team members to ensure testing activities remain aligned with project timelines and deliverables
Support the creation and management of test data and test scenarios
Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement of testing practices
Support testing activities across Agile, DevOps, Hybrid, and traditional project environments Technical Capabilities Strong experience with OpenText ALM, OpenText Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, and Confluence
Experience with automated testing tools such as:
Micro Focus/OpenText UFT
Selenium
TOSCA
Experience developing and executing automated testing scripts and frameworks
Knowledge of Cucumber and Serenity/BDD testing frameworks is an asset
Strong understanding of SDLC and software testing methodologies
Experience working within Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and Hybrid methodologies
Experience analyzing business requirements and user stories
Ability to translate requirements into test scenarios, test cases, scripts, and test data
Experience assessing test results and preparing QA reports
Understanding of web UI design, accessibility, and business processes
API testing experience is an asset
AODA testing experience is an asset

Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and SDLC
Experience with Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and Hybrid environments
Strong defect lifecycle management experience
Hands-on experience with OpenText ALM/Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, and Confluence
Experience with functional, integration, regression, system, and UAT testing
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to understand business processes, requirements, user stories, and information systems
Ability to work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, project teams, and stakeholders
Strong documentation and reporting skills Additional Terms The position will operate under a Hybrid Work Model.
The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely, subject to project requirements.
Office location: Metro Hall, 15th Floor, 55 John Street, Toronto, Ontario.
The resource will work approximately 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, during normal business hours.
Anticipated Duration: 6 months
Potential Extension: Up to an additional 6 months
Location: Toronto, Ontario – Hybrid, with 3 days onsite
