Location: Edmonton Corporate Office The Running Room Group of Companies is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Intermediate Accountant to join our in-office Accounting and Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who has built a solid foundation in accounting and is ready to take ownership of more complex tasks in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with other accounting team members and cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business operations.

This job is 100% worked in-office (no work from home or hybrid work).

Key Responsibilities - Prepare and analyze general ledger accounts including balance sheets, income statements, and account reconciliations.

- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and working papers for external accountants.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in financial data.
- Contribute to financial analysis including variance analysis.




- Collaborate with team members and operational departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and support operational efficiency.
- Other related duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications - Demonstrated proficiency in full-cycle accounting, with increasing levels of responsibility over time.

- Solid analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar accounting software is an asset.
- Willingness to work evenings or weekends as required by deadlines.
