Safety Management System Officer

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Safety Management System Officer to join our Customer Services (ABS) team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you its network of SMS Representatives.
You will be part of the Customer Service - Operations team responsible for operational support (technical and logistical) for our customers and operators. You will have a functional reporting line to the Head of Customer Services (ABS) and the Airbus Canada SMS organization.
The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as SMS Officer for ABS will be to coordinate—in collaboration with the Airbus Canada Aviation Safety function (ABW) and the Operational Excellence SMS team (SOXW)—the development, operation, governance, and promotion of safety for the A220 product and its operators.
Since SMS is a multidisciplinary organization that spans the entire company (Engineering, Production, Quality, etc.), you will act as the focal point for the ABS function.

Your challenges:
- Lead and foster a positive and proactive safety culture within a sensitive, dynamic, and high-visibility environment such as A220 Customer Services in Mirabel.
This includes training newly appointed members of the ABS SMS network and promoting Safety Culture to new Customer Service hires and during SMS-related corporate events;
- Act with leadership within the Safety Management System (SMS) organization by continuously seeking improvements and facilitating the A220 Customer Services SMS representative network;
- Support the identification, assessment, and reporting of aviation safety or systemic risks to the relevant SMS entities, utilizing the standard SMS reporting tools available;
- Ensure that appropriate actions and mitigation plans are implemented on a case-by-case basis to limit identified risks;
- Produce communications and visual content, including reports featuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to help raise awareness and maintain constant vigilance.
Your profile
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or an equivalent five (5) to ten (10) years' experience;
- You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the aeronautical field, with an extensive experience in Customer Services, including practical examples of identifying and assessing risks that could affect the aircraft or its related deliverables (technical publications, training, etc.);
- You possess developed competencies related to Project management and have a good understanding of aircraft functionality;
- You have working knowledge of applicable SMS standards, including AC107-001 Guidance on SMS development, ICAO Annex 19 as well as International Industry Standard SM-0001;
- Strong listening, communication (both individual and group), and feedback skills;
- Proactive and team-oriented, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex situations for multidisciplinary teams;
- Rigorous and analytical, possessing the skills to quickly understand and synthesize the most relevant details of complex situations in a neutral and factual manner;
- You are organized/self-motivated and bilingual (French, English) with strong verbal/written English skills;
- A good knowledge of basic IT skills (Microsoft Office or Google Suite) is an asset.
This role may involve some travels for business (worldwide).
Travel Required: Occasional travel within country & Overseas
Regular business travels will be expected; consequently you must be willing to travel accordingly.
Travel Required: <5% Domestic and International.
Possible on-call duties during week-ends and/or holiday seasons.
