Engage and support exceptional learners as a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Tailor your teaching methods to address the unique needs of students within the classroom setting.
In this position, you will manage educational and behavioral challenges faced by students, working closely with parents, schools, and mental health services. You will develop and adjust lesson plans, conduct assessments, and provide a nurturing environment that promotes academic success and personal development. Your leadership will directly influence the educational outcomes of students facing obstacles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design course outlines aligned with curriculum standards
• Administer tests and interpret results for IEPs
• Maintain comprehensive student records and attendance
• Facilitate discussions with parents about student progress
• Lead professional workshops for community engagement
Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education
• Certification from the Virgin Islands Board of Education
• At least 30 credits in Special Education courses
• Familiarity with child psychology theories
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
