Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Production (Hard Cheese) Operator within our organization reporting to the Production Manager.

The Production (Hard Cheese) Operator at the Saputo Orangeville location is responsible for manufacturing of hard cheese produced at Saputo Orangeville in accordance with standards and guidelines set by the Company objectives.

Schedule: MON-FRI - 1:30pm-10pm

(Can be subject to change based on business requirements)

How you will make contributions that matter:

Continue to be responsible for all cheesemaking duties

Meet daily efficiencies stipulated by the Production Supervisor, Production Manager and Plant Manager

Report immediately to Production Supervisor/Lead Hand any/all food safety and quality issues identified

Comply with all Saputo Orangeville Health and Safety and Food Safety and Quality regulations

Comply with all Saputo Orangeville policies and procedures

Attend scheduled shift regularly and punctually ready to fulfil all duties required

Focus on customer satisfaction

High attention to detail & commitment to deliver quality product

Make hard cheese in open vats.

Culture, coagulate & add ingredients to vat, ensuring accurate amounts and timelines are followed appropriately





Liaise with the Production Supervisor/Lead hand to create and execute plans to ensure proper product is available for packaging for the following week or next day.

Complete paperwork to meet SQF requirements & HACCP requirements

Document all information correctly to ensure proper vat and lot traceability

Complete a washdown at the end of the shift

Take on additional duties as required

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Must, presently, be able to perform all the duties of Soft Cheesemaking, ideally must have at least 2 to 3 years experience in CM dept.

Proficiency and dependability in current position

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Creativity – ability to recommend improvements to product formulation, etc.

Good Sense of Taste – must be willing and able to grade all ingredients and products

Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to complete required documentation

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational and mathematical skills

Must be self-motivated, results oriented and possess high degree of initiative, and work well with minimal supervision.

Reliable and committed to quality and customer satisfaction

Quick learner who easily adapts to change

Ability to work overtime, weekends and statutory holidays as required
