Section chief – legal affairs and project manager Legal affairs, city clerk’s office and communications division We are seeking a section chief for a temporary assignment that offers the possibility of transitioning to a position when opportunities arise, depending on organizational needs and performance. Reporting to the division head of legal affairs and assistant city clerk, the incumbent serves as a legal advisor and project manager, overseeing legal and real estate matters while providing support to municipal departments to assist with risk management and the protection of the City’s interests. Main responsibilities - Strategic and administrative management Manages and coordinates the section’s activities, contributes to defining and implementing policies and objectives, ensures the optimal use of resources, and develops initiatives related to its area of expertise.

- Public land use and real estate transactions Manages cases involving public land use and real estate transactions, coordinates their handling with stakeholders, prepares decision‑making documents, and provides legal expertise on regulations, land management, and contracts.
- Legal expertise and litigation Contributes to the management of municipal legal affairs by analyzing regulatory, contractual, and compliance issues; drafting and reviewing various legal documents; and providing opinions and advice to municipal departments. Also handles litigation, access to information, and claims cases, while participating in special projects,



committees, and election‑related activities as needed.

Qualifications required Required qualifications:

- Member of the Quebec Bar or the Chamber of notaries - 2 to 5 years or more of relevant experience in the municipal sector - Good knowledge of relevant legislation, legal standards, and real estate practices - Ability to analyse complex situations and communicate effectively - Autonomy, rigor, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities - Client‑oriented Employment status Why join the city Dollard‑des‑Ormeaux?
