Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Abacus Teacher to inspire young learners in mastering mental math skills through the traditional abacus method. In this role, you will create an engaging classroom environment that fosters confidence, curiosity, and a love for mathematics. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students develop solid calculation abilities, improve concentration, and build a solid foundation for future academic success.

Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging abacus lessons tailored to students’ age and skill levels, ensuring explicit understanding of concepts
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages active participation, curiosity, and confidence in math
Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development
Incorporate technology and visual aids to enhance learning experiences and maintain student interest
Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address individual learning needs
Maintain organized lesson plans, attendance records, and student portfolios in compliance with school policies
Support classroom management by promoting respectful behavior and encouraging peer collaboration
Experience
Prior experience working with children in an educational or tutoring setting is highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics, particularly mental calculation techniques using the abacus or similar tools
Solid teaching or tutoring background with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
Proficiency in computer skills for lesson planning, student tracking, and utilizing educational software
Classroom experience that includes managing diverse learning styles and adapting instruction accordingly
Familiarity with special education principles is a plus, enabling you to support students with unique learning needs
Background or interest in computer science can be advantageous for integrating digital tools into lessons
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
