Your Opportunity:This position will support academic researchers in the province through the Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit and Health Shared Services Provincial Research Data Services and may support specific academic research groups depending on need, utilizing primarily administrative data sources available within the health care system, including Connect Care. This successful candidate will use their expert programming skills (e.G. SQL, Python, R, SAS) and statistical knowledge to transform data into analytical datasets and perform statistical analysis to collaborate with clinical and applied health researchers. This includes deriving complex concepts and working with many different health related datasets (e.G. Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System, Pharmaceutical Information Network, Laboratory, Vital Statistics) in an organized manner and with great attention to detail. The successful candidate will be expected to perform statistical analysis (descriptive statistics and more advanced analysis including inferential and predictive statistics) as well as provide interpretations and methodology recommendations while being able to present findings in various formats. The successful candidate will also assist with preparation of academic works (e.G., abstracts, presentations, manuscripts) and reports including creating tables and figures and assisting with writing and critical review for appropriate content and accuracy. There are multiple positions available.Description:As a Research II, you will be responsible for coordinating research activities which generate and disseminate new knowledge that assists with advancing the understanding of health disciplines and various health and medical concerns. Working with the principal investigator,



you will assist with the study design and development of research protocols, determine appropriate data collection methods and measurement procedures, interpret results, develop recommendations and coordinate study approvals.
