OTR Tire Technician / OTR Tire Technician Trainee

As part of that growth, we’re looking for an OTR Tire Technician or OTR Tire Technician Trainee who takes pride in their work, values safety, and wants to build a long-term career in mining.
The Role
As an OTR Tire Technician/ OTR Tire Technician Trainee, you will perform all aspects of tire service and repair for mining equipment, while upholding Kal Tire’s safety standards and service expectations. You’ll play a key role in maintaining operational uptime and setting the standard for service excellence on site.
Full training will be provided as a part of onboarding for candidates without prior OTR tire technician experience
Site Details
Location: Blackwater, BC
Shift Options: 14/14 rotations, 12-hour days
Averaging agreement is required
Bus in, Bus out (BIBO) provided from Prince George and Vanderhoof
Camp accommodations provided at Backwater, BC at employer's expense.

Hourly rate: $36.47 to $46.10

Responsibilities
Perform mounting, dismounting, balancing, and repair of mining tires
Conduct inspections to ensure safety and performance standards are met
Operate tire service equipment (manipulators, forklifts, service trucks)
Work closely with site maintenance teams to support operations
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Support inventory management of tire-related materials
Maintain required documentation within Kal Tire systems.
Health, Safety & Setting
Follow all site safety procedures and hygiene standards
Use PPE at all times
Report hazards and unsafe work conditions
Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement
Requirements
Experience as a tire technician is preferred
Experience in mining industry is strongly preferred
Experience with haul trucks and loaders with protection chains is an asset
Ability to operate tire service equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude
Physically capable of handling heavy materials safely
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s licence
Successful completion of:
Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Physical assessment
Criminal record check
