Overview
Volunteer Chance: Assistant Coach for Softball D
Special Olympics Ontario/London is dedicated to enriching the lives of Londoners with an intellectual disability through sport.
We support 18 different sports with over 400 athletes.
Location
1001 Fanshawe College Blvd, London, Ontario N6R5Y6.
Responsibilities
Assist a recreational softball team. Players typically can field a ball, throw and sometimes hit. Hitting is not a priority—volunteers must be able to safely field or react to a ball hit toward an athlete. The team practices once a week and plays games in tournaments or friendly matches.
Volunteers should be able to work with athletes with exceptionalities. Some softball skills, especially pitching knowledge or experience, are an asset.
Time commitment: 2 hours per week, Thursday 6:30‑8:00 p.m. May 21‑August 27 at Fanshawe College.
Volunteer Requirements
Over the age of majority in the province.
Willing to undergo a background or police records check.
Comfortable commuting to the opportunity location.
