Shape the future of Indigenous youth by becoming an Employment Coach at the Aboriginal Training and Employment Centre in Kamloops, BC. Engage in a community-driven, culturally responsive program designed for neurodiverse learners and those facing significant barriers.
This full time temporary role focuses on empowering participants aged 19 and above to find meaningful employment. As an Employment Coach, develop individualized support plans and facilitate workshops tailored to diverse learning needs. Collaborate with various community organizations to ensure comprehensive support and access to job opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop relationships with Indigenous communities in Kamloops
• Initiate contacts with business representatives to promote inclusion
• Coordinate job placements and community connections
• Provide individualized employment support for participants
• Organize job fairs and employer events locally and virtually
Requirements:
• Post-secondary certification in a related field or equivalent experience
• Experience working with youth or those facing barriers
• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 and job search resources
• Emergency First Aid/CPR-C Certificate required
