OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and compliant work environment within our manufacturing operations. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing safety protocols, conducting training sessions, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations. Prior experience in manufacturing settings and a focus on training & development are highly valued.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures across all departments.Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.Lead safety training and development programs for employees, promoting best practices and compliance.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.Collaborate with management to improve safety standards and foster a culture of safety awareness.Ensure compliance with WCB regulations and other relevant safety standards.Maintain accurate records of safety activities, training sessions,



and incident reports.Stay current on industry safety trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve safety protocols.*Assist with additional tasks as needed.RequirementsProven experience in restoration and construction related industry environments .Strong knowledge of WCB regulations and safety standards applicable to manufacturing operations.Experience with training & development initiatives related to workplace safety.Excellent communication skills to effectively conduct training sessions and safety briefings.Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for recordkeeping and compliance documentation.Certification in occupational health & safety is preferred but not mandatory.Commitment to fostering a safe work environment through proactive engagement and leadership.Experience in the field abatement work an asset.Job Type: Full-timePay: $22.00-$35.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:Dental careExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingWork Location: In person
