Position: Fitness and Massage Supervisor
Location: Blue River BC
Type: Full-Time, Seasonal
Reports to: Fitness & Massage Manager
Overview
The Fitness and Massage Supervisor is the first point of contact for guests in the Fitness Center and Massage area. Guests look to the Supervisor for guidance on gym equipment, booking of massages, and orientation of spa resources. A good attitude and prompt, attentive service are essential in this demanding role that requires strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
Maintain the functions and activities occurring during the day‑to‑day business in the massage department.
Manage all aspects of the gym, including cleaning, appearance, and supply stocking for the massage area, whirlpool/sauna, and common areas; conduct orientation sessions with staff and attend to guests.
Lead guests through 30‑minute stretch routines in the morning and afternoon.
Organize and confirm massage requests and reservations via person, email, and phone.
Lead outdoor activities such as fat biking and snowshoeing as part of the Adventure Centre.
Communicate with the Lodge regarding the Massage department.
Coordinate with front desk, reservations, and housekeeping.
Set an example for massage staff by following procedures from senior management.
Ensure massage facilities, gym, and equipment are secure, clean, and maintained.
Immediately correct any violations of company policy by staff.
Maintain valuable working relationships with all departments, working closely with the Massage Manager, therapists, front desk, reservations, and HR.
Represent MWHS with integrity and project a proper and exemplary image on and off duty.
Maximize relationships with guests and contacts.
Implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure all guest services meet the highest hospitality standards and operate efficiently and cost‑effectively.
Handle crisis management,
ensuring no unauthorized media communication.
Participate in Health & Safety and ensure OHS regulations are followed.
Participate in emergency planning, simulations, and real‑life emergencies as part of the emergency response and base rescue plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
Computer skills are essential; knowledge of Microsoft programs and ability to learn internal database usage.
Attention to detail, including cleanliness.
Experience in a fitness center or clinic preferred.
Familiarity with fitness/anatomy/massage benefits preferred.
Guest relations skills are essential; this position is the "face of the department".
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Organized, self‑motivated, punctual, well‑groomed, and professional.
High adaptability to work and social environments.
Able to work with minimal supervision and have strong initiative.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to work a variety of day and weekend shifts, including split shifts to cover peak guest usage.
Yoga instructor certification would be an asset.

Compensation: Starting at $23.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
