In this essential role, you'll join the Seniors Mental Health Program, supporting individuals in various living situations to enhance their well-being. Your responsibilities will include assessment, intervention, and aiding seniors to avoid psychiatric hospitalization when possible. Key skills will include effective communication, collaboration with health teams, and the ability to manage responsive behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct support to seniors with mental health disorders
• Conduct assessments and implement intervention strategies
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal care
• Utilize Gentle Persuasive Approach techniques for patient interaction
• Ensure a secure environment for all patients and staff
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent mandatory
• Personal Support Worker or HealthCare Aide certification required
• Current BLS and GPA certificates needed
• Experience in acute care/rehabilitation preferred
• Bilingual in English/French is required
