Join Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre as a Community Services Counsellor in Coburg. This full-time role focuses on providing essential counselling and advocacy services to women facing gender-based violence.
This permanent position, averaging 35 hours per week, requires a dedicated qualified skilled in individual and group counselling. You will conduct assessments, provide immediate crisis support, and coordinate group sessions tailored to women who have experienced trauma. Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct preliminary assessments to identify client needs
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support
• Coordinate groups for women affected by violence
• Facilitate client trips to court and hospitals
• Maintain accurate documentation and service statistics
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Strong understanding of family violence and trauma links
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction
• Certification in Basic First Aid and CPR
• Commitment to woman-centered service delivery
