Overview
The Landscape and Snow Removal Technician is responsible for completing grounds maintenance service contracts. The position holder will operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Position type: full‑time with seasonal fluctuations – busier during spring/fall, less in the middle of summer and winter. Summer is a 4‑day week (Monday‑Thursday) with occasional Fridays and Saturdays. Winter is on‑call – we work when Mother Nature says we do!

Responsibilities

Aid in the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM

Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn‑care duties as directed by crew lead, field supervisor and regional manager

Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas

Perform weeding and other general garden duties

Spray and dust areas to control insects and/or weeds

Snow removal in winter

Operate power equipment including lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chainsaws, and snow blowers

Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment

Assist crew leads/field supervisors in other work‑related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance

Wear appropriate PPE at all times

Comply with all company policies and regulations

Work in accordance with local health and safety laws and regulations

Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Requirements





Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience in the landscape/construction industry preferred

Valid, clean Class 5 licence eligible for higher end of pay scale; without a licence up to $22.50

Capable of operating required equipment and tools safely and responsibly

Effective communication skills – able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete simple reports, report progress to supervisors

Time‑management skills

Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required for various landscape/construction practices

Ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team

Physical ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods and lift over 50 lbs repeatedly during a shift

Preference for candidates with a valid driver’s licence and safe driving record

Work Conditions

Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small‑engine equipment, and materials

Ability to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly during an entire shift

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment

Requires positive manual dexterity

Excellent stamina required

Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles regularly

Work outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold

Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work
