Job Overview Title of Course The Future of Work Compensation Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
Compensation If the employee holds a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree, they will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour (Rate effective September 1, 2026).
If the employee does NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree, they will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour (Rate effective September 1, 2026).
Duties overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course;
coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them;
assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams;
any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor.




Qualifications A four-year Honours B.A., or equivalent, in Labour with a minimum 75% average in Labour courses.
Evidence of successful previous university-level teaching assistant experience or equivalent.
Demonstrated strong organizational and effective communication skills including the ability to respond quickly and clearly to student inquiries, coordinate activities of teaching assistants, manage course materials and grading in Brightspace, work well with course instructor, and meet appropriate deadlines.
