Duties And Responsibilities

Supports financial administration, recordkeeping, communications, program logistics,



and day‑to‑day coordination with the CJIIC team, students, instructors, various university departments, and other program contributors.

Contributes to the effective delivery of CJIIC by ensuring accurate administrative processes, timely communication, and organized program operations.

Qualifications

Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.

Experience maintaining accurate financial and administrative records, including invoices, receipts, expense claims, travel documentation, reconciliation, and reporting.

Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to manage records, databases, forms, documentation, and competing priorities.

Proficiency with standard office software and databases (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Forms, Adobe Acrobat), with the ability to learn university‑specific systems and platforms.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparing correspondence, templates, resource materials, and responding to inquiries.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic program environment.

Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures, communities, and organizations in Canada, with a commitment to supporting culturally responsive and inclusive learning environments.

Education And Experience

College diploma or undergraduate degree (equivalencies will be considered).

Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative support, program coordination, or a related role.

The Following Skills And Experience Would Be An Asset

Administrative experience supporting an Indigenous program or community.

Familiarity with Carleton University policies, systems, and administrative processes.

Experience working in a post‑secondary, Indigenous,



community‑based, or nonprofit setting.

Experience supporting programs involving travel coordination, events, student services, or partnership‑based initiatives.

Experience working with Indigenous learners, communities, or organizations.
