Job Description
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-4, may be adjusted to workload
Wage: Start at $25 an hour, will be assessed during probation period for increase after 90 days
Responsibilities
Cut, trim, bone, and prepare beef, bison, pork, chicken, lamb, goat and turkey, and game meat
Slaughter, skin, gut, process under watch of Ontario inspector
Process whole carcasses into retail and wholesale cuts.
Ensure all products meet quality and food safety standards.
Clean and sanitize equipment, workstations, and processing areas.
Follow all food safety regulations.
Work collaboratively with the farm and processing team to meet production schedules.
Required Skills
Previous experience as a butcher or meat cutter is preferred.
Experience processing livestock is considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of meat cuts and proper fabrication techniques.
Ability to safely operate knives, band saws, grinders,



and meat processing equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
Ability to work in a refrigerated workplace and perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Food Handler Certification is an asset.
Must have reliable transportation to our rural location in Desbarats
Provincial Food Handler Certification from Guelph required
