Join the City of Dryden as a Permanent Part Time Lifeguard/Instructor. This role combines essential lifeguarding duties and teaches swimming skills and water safety knowledge to diverse age groups.
The successful candidate will work at the Dryden Recreation Complex, supervising swimmers and ensuring safety. You'll instruct both children and adults in improving their swimming capabilities and personal safety in water. With 24 hours per week, flexible schedule may be required based on staffing needs, allowing you to develop your skills while contributing to community safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise swimmers and enforce pool safety rules
• Instruct swimming skills and water safety to all ages
• Teach entry-level leadership courses for diverse rescue skills
• Provide emergency medical assistance when necessary
• Maintain certifications and assist with aquatics programming
Requirements:
• Valid Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard certification
• Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification
• Willingness to obtain further Lifesaving Society certifications
• Clean Criminal Background/Vulnerable Sector check required
• Experience in aquatics or similar field is preferred
