Horse Program The Horse Program at Spruce Meadows is looking to add an experienced Competition Groom to our friendly and hardworking roster. Horse Show experience a must , FEI experience an asset. This is a full-time, salary position with health advantages and on-site staff housing is available.
The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, dedicated, and capable of working well in a team or as an individual. Evenings and weekend shifts are required along with travel to competitions.
RESPONSIBILITIES (included, But Not Limited To) feeding
mucking out
turnout
tacking up
lunging
bathing
braiding
clipping
wrapping
caulking
keeping the stable in top shape
Minimum Requirements Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age, and have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Prior competition horse experience is a must, show facility experience is a bonus but not a requirement.
Applicants must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects like square bales, jump standards, poles. etc.
Ability to problem solve and exhibit conflict resolution skills
Grooms living on-site will be housed in renovated apartments with all amenities and have access to a staff vehicle. We apologize, but no pets are allowed in staff housing.
