The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-focused Truck Driver to support local hauling operations based in the Thessalon, Ontario area. This position involves operating a truck and pup combination to transport aggregate materials from local pits to designated locations

Your Day-to-Day

Safely operate a truck and pup combination to haul aggregate materials from pits in the Thessalon area

Safely load, secure, transport, and deliver materials in accordance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations and company procedures.

Assist with loading and unloading as required

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete vehicle inspection reports, and report unsafe conditions and accidents

Attend daily safety meetings

Monitor equipment fitness, and ever-changing conditions





Perform minor repairs to equipment when required

Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment effectively

Maintain accurate electronic Hours of Service, vehicle inspection logs, and delivery documentation in compliance with MTO requirements

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work workplace

Perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching, and extended periods of sitting throughout the workday

Monday to Friday work schedule with evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required to meet operational and project demands

Travel to job sites across Northern Ontario, including occasional out-of-town assignments with overnight stays

Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Perform other related duties as assigned

The pay range posted reflects base compensation only. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.

Required:
Required Skills:

Valid AZ class driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR

Minimum of one (1)



year experience operating commercial vehicles requiring a AZ license

Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Considered An Asset:

Prior experience delivering construction equipment, materials, and job site supplies including the use of truck and pup combination

Surface Miner Common Core

Highschool Diploma or equivalent

Skills & Abilities:

Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements they impose on contractors)

Knowledgeable and respectful of the Highway Traffic Act and Municipality by laws and regulations

Knowledge of loading requirements, techniques, and practices

Strong attention to detail to ensure work quality and compliance are being appropriately monitored through inspections and observations

Ability to perform physically intensive and strenuous tasks when required

Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision

Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients

Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
