As a Machinist I, you will set up and adjust various machines to create precision parts from drawings. This role requires familiarity with conventional and automatic equipment while maintaining operational efficiency. You'll also learn to perform basic calculations and measurements using precision instruments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to specifications
• Measure and test completed units for defects
• Monitor machine feed and speed during operations
• Study blueprints to determine fabrication sequences
• Assemble and install repaired or current equipment
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of machining processes and CAD/CAM software
• Strong understanding of mathematics applied to machining
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long durations
• Experience with measuring instruments like micrometers
