Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District
Schedule: Monday - Friday, flexible hours
Salary Or Wage: $30.95 to $35.52 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible

List of Requirements Diploma in a related human/social service field, bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two years of recent, related experience, including experience in community development and/or women’s anti-violence work.
Training as an adult educator and/or Transition House Support Worker is an asset.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Valid BC Driver’s License.
Current Criminal Record Check
Access to a dependable vehicle
Certificates in CPR and First Aid
List of Duties Provides a range of services including follow-up and short-term concrete support for women pre and post Grace House or when clients are involved with other victim services programs.
Supports clients to live safely in community by determining individual needs and safety requirements.
Develops cooperative relationships and partnerships in the community and participates in case planning with the client.




Encourages clients in problem solving and advocates for clients as needed such as accessing financial assistance, medical assistance, housing options, or other community resources.
Develops and facilitates support and educational groups for clients; provides resources, appropriate referrals, and advocacy.
Develops and delivers culturally appropriate public education initiatives to raise awareness of gender-based violence issues and violence prevention through out the community.
This is a union position. Occasional weekend work is required.
