Position Summary The Research Assistant will support an in-lab study examining executive functioning in children. Primary responsibilities will include recruiting and scheduling child participants and their families, communicating study information clearly to parents and caregivers, assisting with participant intake, and supporting the administration of laboratory study procedures. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team, exercise sound judgment, and respond professionally to scheduling or procedural issues as they arise.
Research Assistants must regularly maintain at least two separate two-hour periods of availability each week so that participants can be scheduled on an ongoing basis. These periods must fall outside regular school hours, between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. on weekdays or between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekends.
Applicants must have completed an honours degree in psychology and have knowledge of developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, or both.



Candidates must also possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills and be eligible to obtain a satisfactory criminal record check, including any required vulnerable-sector screening. There may be opportunities for additional times, depending on need and availability. All work will be done at the University of Regina campus.
Position Requirements Completion of an honours degree in psychology
Knowledge of developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, or both
Experience working with school-aged children or familiarity with child development
Ability to obtain a satisfactory criminal record check, including vulnerable sector screening
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with psychological research methods
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team
Regular availability for at least two separate two-hour time blocks each week. These time blocks must fall between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. on weekdays or between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekends.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, and the work associated with this position must be performed within Canada.
