Mountain Munchkin Daycare in Canmore, AB, is seeking a Level 1 Early Years Educator.

Terms of Employment
Wage: $23.00 – $26.00/h – depending on experience

Position: Full-time, Permanent.

Vacation: 2 weeks

Work Hours: 40 hours per week – 8-hour shift Monday to Friday

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Level 1 Early Educator to join our team. This role involves spending part of the time directly in the classroom (Ages 4-5) and part of the time supporting other rooms (1-3 years). The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about early childhood education and committed to fostering a positive and nurturing environment for our children.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum to stimulate children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth

Create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote learning through play

Foster a safe and inclusive environment where children feel comfortable to explore and learn





Guide children positively and constructively, promoting healthy social and emotional development.

Support Across the Daycare

Assist other classrooms as needed, providing additional support and ensuring consistency in care and education.

Collaborate with other educators to maintain a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Adapt to the varying needs of different classrooms, offering assistance and resources where necessary.

Assist in daily cleaning

Professional Conduct

Build and maintain healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Communicate effectively with team members to support a collaborative working setting.

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Education and Experience

Must have completed secondary school and Level 1 certification in Early Childhood Education.

At least two years of experience working with young children in a daycare or educational settings.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to adapt to different classroom environments and needs.
