Become a crucial part of The Salvation Army as a Maintenance Worker, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients and staff at the Alice M Walter House. This role includes general maintenance, equipment checks, and urgent repairs on-site.
Reporting to the Assistant Property Manager, the Maintenance Worker will contribute significantly by addressing repairs in facilities, from plumbing issues to touch-up paintings. You will maintain safety protocols and perform regular checks, ensuring everything runs smoothly at the 160 Jarvis location. This hands-on role involves both minor equipment repairs and environmental upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor building systems and report potential issues
• Maintain detailed logs of equipment and repairs
• Follow safe procedures when handling chemicals
• Perform minor repairs such as plumbing and painting
• Assist in fire inspections and health safety checks
Requirements:
• Grade 12 and two years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with cleaning procedures and equipment
• Solid communication skills, written and verbal
• Physical ability to perform maintenance duties
• Completion of WHMIS and First Aid/CPR training
