Great Plains College is looking for dynamic and enthusiastic instructor for the ESL program at the Warman Campus. The instructor will plan, organize and implement an instructional program of English for settlement, academic or work purposes for learners whose first language is not English.
Position Details: Student Contact Days: 33.0
Total Contract Days: 37.5
Start date: September 1, 2026
End date: May 31, 2027
Qualifications: Knowledge of Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) approach in order to implement in the classroom.
Plan and implement English Language instruction using Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) curriculum guidelines in a classroom setting, within a multi-level group-instruction setting.
Plan and prepare to instruct each day and present course material in a clear and comprehensible manner.
Creating a learning setting that is philosophically adult-education based where learning is considered collaborative and learner-centered.
Completion of CERTESL certificate or equivalent.
Two or more years of recent-on-the-job experience in the skills or technical subject area.
Experience working with Stage 1 learners, including those who may have low literacy skills in their first language.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
