Blind River is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities and Community Services and working with excellent municipal staff, the successful candidate must be capable of assisting the Community Services Department with administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Travel Information Centre and tourism initiatives.
The Administrative Assistant - Tourism is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative and customer service functions in support of the Travel Information Centre. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills while delivering exceptional customer service and promoting Blind River as a destination. The position requires discretion when handling confidential information and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.




Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to the Facilities & Community Services Department.
Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, answer telephones, and respond to emails.
Support tourism initiatives, events, and visitor services.
Maintain and improve administrative procedures and visitor service processes.
Assist with retail inventory management and point-of-sale transactions.
Deliver exceptional customer service at the Visitor Information Centre.
Liaise with Facilities staff to ensure a safe, welcoming setting for visitors.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent).
Minimum one (1) year of experience using point-of-sale systems and processing debit/credit transactions.
Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, sound judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Working knowledge of tablets, smartphones, and social media platforms.
Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
