Hulitan Early Years Centre is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Educator to enrich the lives of Indigenous children through culturally rooted education. This full-time temporary position supports community values.
You will fill a one-year maternity leave for children aged 3 to 5, using a trauma-informed lens to promote holistic development. Collaboration with peers, families, and Elders is critical in creating a nurturing environment that fosters individual strengths. The role also includes ongoing professional development in early childhood education and Indigenous culture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure child health, safety, and well-being
• Facilitate the daily schedule and activities
• Guide healthy habits and nutrition practices
• Implement curriculum reflecting Indigenous culture
• Observe and assess children’s development
Requirements:
• Valid Early Childhood Education Certification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in licensed childcare
• Explicit police record check required
• Current first aid and CPR certification
• Experience with Indigenous communities is a plus
