Our offices are purposely designed with collaboration in mind, providing space where teams can come together to strategize, brainstorm and connect on key projects.We are looking for a skilled and hardworking policy and advocacy professional to join the Corporate Affairs Team, reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, Europe & Canada and indirectly reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, Alexion Canada. You will create and implement strategic policy and advocacy programs and partnerships aligned to disease areas and enterprise objectives.The Senior Manager, Policy & Advocacy will collaborate with different functions within Alexion to ensure our engagements are strategic and focused on enhancing patient access to potentially life‑changing therapies, as well as awareness and education. Key internal partners include Medical Affairs, Government Affairs and Market Access, Clinical Operations, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Regulatory, Legal,



and Compliance. By connecting the external and internal environments, you will actively help position Alexion as a leading patient‑centered rare disease biotechnology company and dynamic thought leader as we progress pharmaceutical policy in Canada.What you’ll doCreate strong external relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders such as policymakers/decision‑makers, patient advocacy groups, key opinion leaders, clinical experts and professional societies.Build and implement targeted engagement plans within key disease areas aligning partnership and policy changes with key business objectives.Develop compelling policy argumentations and engagement materials.Lead and contribute to multi‑stakeholder partnerships with the aim to deliver outputs relevant to progressing policy discussions as well as working closely with Global counterparts to support policy evidence generation and pull‑through of global materials.Collaborate with internal colleagues to foster optimal partnerships and highlight relationships with key influencers to achieve business priorities.Monitor, analyze, provide insight,



and make strategic recommendations on engagement priorities to all appropriate internal colleagues.Act as counsel to the Director and other Alexion Canada senior leaders on disease area and health system policy issues.Collaborate and pitch‑in on various department projects as the need arises.Essential for the roleBachelor’s degree.Minimum 5+ years in policy development, patient advocacy, government affairs, corporate affairs or related fields in regulated, complex, or multinational environments.Deep knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system and rare disease ecosystem, patient advocacy community and life sciences stakeholder groups in Canada, understanding of the interrelationship between patient advocacy organizations, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare practitioners, and governments/payers.Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new policy areas and regulatory environments, synthesize information, and generate actionable insights.Proven track record of collaborating and mobilizing different people and organizations.Strong interpersonal skills for working across functions and a variety of stakeholders. Superior written and verbal communication, with experience preparing policy materials and executive‑level updates.Strong organizational and time‑management skills for tracking deliverables and meeting deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced setting.Ability to travel across Canada (~20%).Desirable for the rolePrevious experience in rare disease.Experience in biopharmaceuticals, health systems, or life sciences.Annual base salary for this position ranges from 125,822.40 to 165,141.90.#J-18808-Ljbffr
