What qualifications are we looking for?

At the YMCA of Southwestern Alberta, we strive to ensure our employees are a good fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals.

The successful candidate will have the following:

Education/Certifications/Credentials/Professional Registration

- Have or are pursuing a Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Marketing, Web Design or equivalent

- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check (with Vulnerable Secor Search if applicable) within the last six months





- Must have a valid driver's license with a class 07 automobile insurance coverage business use (or pleasure with occasional business use) and a minimum of $2,000,000 in liability coverage if required

Knowledge & Skills

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Canva required

- Proficiency in Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, Twitter Advertising required

- Photography and editing skills an asset

- Video Editing Skills is an asset

- Time management and organizational skills

- Ability to work effectively, efficiently, independently, and under pressure

- Strong writing, grammar, and spelling skills preferred

What does this role look like at the YMCA of Southwestern Alberta?

Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Marketing the Social Media Coordinator responsible for managing our brand’s online presence, including but not limited to, researching audience preferences, creating engaging content, measuring web traffic, and

The responsibilities and duties of this role will include but is not limited to:

- Work with the Marcomm team to promote the YMCA association and achieve optimal collective results

- Oversee and manage posting for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, and LinkedIn

- Create and manage digital ad campaigns across various platforms, including delivering analytics to assess campaign success, and trouble shoot for optimum reach and efficacy.

- Post with the highest standard of clarity, accuracy, professionalism, and integrity.

- Know and execute current trends on social media platforms and algorithms. (e.g., specifications and policies).

- Create videos and reels of all YMCA departments for social media.

- Assist Communications & Marketing Manager in expanding, organizing, and maintaining the YMCA Photo Library
