Posting Status: Open to all current Town of Oakville employees and external applicants.

This job posting is for an existing vacancy and therefore will be filled accordingly.
This position works no more than 24 hours per week on average.
This position works non-traditional hours including afternoons, weekends and evenings.
Job Responsibilities Direct supervision of Leagues, Tournaments and special events, including daily interaction with part time staff, volunteers and the general public
Assisting with the planning and execution of Scheduling, Game Night Prep, League Website Management and Prizing Coordination
Assisting with the hiring, training and scheduling of part time staff
Assisting in the screening, supervision, orientation and training of volunteers
Providing administrative and programming support to the Recreation Coordinator
Assisting with league registration and inputting of league information using the Xplor Recreation system
Maintaining player database and accurate league records and statistics
Assisting Recreation Coordinator with tracking, purchasing supplies/Prizing and inventory
Adhere to Corporate Policies and Procedures
To attend and participate in required staff training and scheduled meetings
This position works non-traditional hours including afternoons, weekends and evenings
Perform other duties as assigned




Qualifications The successful applicant will have a Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Recreation and Leisure, or equivalent related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience with direct programming in a recreation setting. An equivalent of education and experience will be considered. The successful candidate will have well-honed customer service skills that demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers. Computer proficiency is essential; specifically experience using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Candidates must have access to a vehicle.
Please note that this position requires a satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector screening check dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employment. Candidates who are under the age of 18 at the time of hire will only be required to provide a criminal record check.
