Sous Chef

Zambri's is an award-winning, 120-seat Italian restaurant and a cornerstone of Victoria's dining scene for 27 years. Known for our seasonal approach to food, thoughtfully curated Italian wine program, and warm, professional hospitality, we are currently seeking a Sous-Chef to help lead our kitchen.

This position works evenings Tuesday to Saturdays with shifts typically ending between 10-11pm.

Responsibilities

- Participating in and supervising food service operations

- Working closely with Executive Chef and Senior Sous Chef to support menu development to satisfy guest needs and meet market demands

- Supporting staff hiring, training schedules and continued development

- Supporting in ordering and following food cost budgets

- Executing and planning for private functions and events

- General maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen and surrounding spaces

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years previous cooking experience

- Experience and ability to work in a rapid paced, high-volume restaurant

- High organization skills and attention to detail

- Previous leadership experience considered an asset

- Previous experience in Italian cuisine considered an asset





- Banquet experience considered an asset

- Adaptable to change

- Base understanding of budgets including food costs & labour costs

- Food-Safe certification
