Position Summary Full-Time Support Staff, replacement position
Conestoga is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Logistics & Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance, repair, logistics, and facilities support duties across multiple campus locations.
This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and general upkeep of college buildings, equipment, furnishings, and grounds, while supporting shipping and receiving operations, event set‑ups, furniture moves, and other facilities‑related services. The incumbent contributes to maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming learning environments and is expected to adhere to all College health and safety policies, procedures, and required training.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work on-site five days per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Doon campus located at 299 Doon Valley Dr. in Kitchener. Travel is required weekly between campus locations. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities Shipping, receiving and mail services Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments and deliveries
Coordinate cost-effective shipping arrangements and prepare packages and shipping documentation
Unload, handle, and distribute deliveries throughout campus in accordance with College procedures
Maintain organized and effective shipping and receiving areas
Coordinate with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, vendors, courier services, Customs, and Canada Post to resolve shipping discrepancies and ensure timely delivery of goods
Collect, sort,



and distribute mail and shipments across College buildings and campuses
Building maintenance and repairs Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on College facilities and equipment
Assemble, install, and repair furniture, shelving, cupboards, bookcases, and other fixtures.
Install and repair locks on doors, cabinets, desks, and filing systems
Install notice boards, whiteboards, signage, and other building fixtures
Complete minor painting, drywall, masonry, plumbing, and door hardware repairs
Respond to maintenance requests, including furniture moves, office relocations, event logistics, and other facility-related work orders
Maintain work areas, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency and safety
Furniture, equipment and event support Move, assemble, install, and repair furniture, equipment, and supplies throughout campus
Complete classroom and academic space set‑ups to support program delivery while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and legislation
Set up and tear down facilities for College events and special functions
Perform repairs to furniture and program‑specific equipment in classrooms and common areas
Grounds and fleet maintenance Conduct inspections and document maintenance activities for equipment,



including fire extinguishers
Perform routine grounds maintenance, including litter collection, weed control, pruning, and outdoor cleaning
Complete minor asphalt and concrete repairs
Clean, fuel, and prepare fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness
Facilities operations support Provide operational support across Facilities functions as required, including shipping and receiving, grounds maintenance, equipment repairs, signage installation, and Convocation activities
Assist with facility-related emergencies such as flooding response, safety barricades, and other urgent operational needs
Support skilled trades staff and contractors with maintenance projects and related tasks
Qualifications High school diploma is required
Minimum of two years of practical experience in the maintenance and repair of building contents and equipment is required
Strong reading and writing skills with the ability to interpret technical information and complete accurate documentation
Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments
Knowledge of locking systems and security hardware, with the ability to assess operational requirements and recommend appropriate locking system designs and solutions is considered an asset
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
A valid G driver’s licence in good standing is required
