Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Industrial. Manufacture. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Read blueprints and drawings. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate. Welding techniques: Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Machinery or equipment repair. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Personal suitability: Organized. Team player. Employment terms options: Shift. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Health benefits: Dental plan. Health care plan.
