About Us
Bedford Ready Mix has been in operation since 1985 and a proud member of the OSCO Construction Group since 2008. In addition to its shared resources with Sackville Concrete, the Bedford location also hosts a four-bay repair facility, capable of handling even the largest of pumps in the fleet. This collaboration has made them the largest concrete supplier in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Both companies perform a mix of residential work along with industrial/commercial projects. The plants operate a large fleet of concrete pumps, including the largest boom pump East of Montreal.
Bedford Ready Mix is currently seeking a Temporary qualified Maintenance Clerk for its Ready-Mix operations in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for data entry of maintenance information into our internal database system and maintaining and managing inventory records. Additionally, the Maintenance Clerk will be responsible for communicating with our suppliers to source for consumable items for the maintenance department.
This temporary opportunity will support the Maintenance Department for a period that is currently unknown. The end date may be adjusted based on business needs and operational demands.
The position requires experience in computer applications and online document management. Exceptional time management and communication skills are critical as the ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Creating maintenance requests in JDE from defects received on pre-trips
Entering repair order data, recharge hours and weekly Hours and KM of equipment into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (JDE)
Obtain quotes, create purchase orders, order and physically receive all consumables
Communicating with drivers to obtain missing information on pre trips
Actively working with mechanics to obtain any missing details from work orders
Assisting with special projects and all other duties as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Technical Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Exposure to JD Edwards One World would be considered a definite asset
Business Requirements
Exceptional time management and organizational skills coupled with proven ability to work well in an extremely fast-paced and deadline driven environment
Demonstrated experience managing multiple and changing priorities without sacrificing deadlines
Detail-oriented coupled with proven sense of urgency
Organized self-starter who works effectively with minimal supervision and a high level of accountability
Must understand the critical role that equipment maintenance has in meeting operational goals
Social Requirements
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with management and peers
Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work both collaborative and independently when necessary
