Position Summary POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Functions as an integral member of the patient care team under the direction, leadership and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Provides nursing care functions related to a variety of patient needs to the extent of their ability and training within the LVN scope of practice. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures. Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator.
This is a non-union position.

Provides the skills necessary for ensuring timely interventions and treatments while maintaining patient comfort, safety and personal care while under the direction, leadership and supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Collects data and reports all pertinent nursing care information to the RN.

Maintains documentation standards with accurate, timely and complete recording and reporting.

Assists in the development and implementation of a written nursing care plan for patients.

Carries out the plan of care as it relates to the patient's and family's emotional and educational needs, communicates with patient and family in a clear open and collaborative manner showing care and concern.

May be required to work other shifts,



weekends and/or be on-call.

Essential Functions

Job Details: FTE:0.1, Swing (8-hour shifts)

Qualifications

High school graduate

Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program

Current license from the California State Board of Vocational Nursing

Current IV certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS and/or PALS may be preferred or required depending on hospital policy)

Prior experience in an emergency or acute care setting is preferred
