Key Responsibilities
Follow all SOP’s and SWI’s required for the departments.
Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements i.e. continual improvements
Read and understand blueprints, specifications and drawings
Utilize proper fall arrest equipment (if applicable)
Forklift and crane operation (if applicable)
Log time in ERP system (if applicable)
Blasting
Blast to the standards set by the engineering drawings
Blow down all parts prior to sending for coating
Complete quality checks
Wrap, package, label, and palletize material when appropriate
Preparation of product for powder coating application
Powder Coating
Apply powder coat electrostatically ensuring accuracy and evenness according to outlined specifications
Ensure colour changes are completed properly
Complete all caulking on parts as required
Inspect product from blast booth prior to coating
Apply powder to the standards set by the engineering drawings
Complete quality checks on parts coming out of oven, checking for paint thickness, and following a quality checklist
On/Off Loading
Arrange parts and staging of materials
Determine material to be loaded by priority and colour to be painted
Load material using appropriate method of hanging and provide proper gaps between material being loaded
Maintain log of material on-line for daily shift report
Ensure material is being loaded at a pace appropriate for powder coat booth
Coordinate burn-offs when required
Off-load material from hooks/hanging, operate hoist
Wrap, package, label, and palletize material when appropriate
Perform quality checks before and after coating process
Proper labeling of all finished parts.
Move materials as needed to complete loading and unloading responsibilities using hoists, overhead crane, or other available methods of material handling on overhead paint conveyor line.
Support other departments (such as assembly department)
as needed when not working on the paint line.
Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements And Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Manufacturing experience is an asset
Able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds repeatedly
Able to work in fast paced environment standing for long periods of time

You may be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in a manufacturing setting (i.e., safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, high visibility vests, etc.).

Physical Environment
Work performed in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
Exposure to loud noise levels from machinery.
Possible exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, or extreme temperatures (hot/cold).
Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes, forklift activity, fumes and/or airborne particles (requiring the wearing of respiratory equipment).
Standing or walking for long periods on concrete floors.
Work Schedule
May require shift work (day, night, weekend, or rotating shifts).
Overtime may be required during peak production periods.
Workplace Hazards
Operating heavy machinery or power tools.
Handling hazardous materials or chemicals.
Risk of repetitive motion injuries or musculoskeletal strain.
Employees may be exposed to ultraviolet radiation from welding and cutting operations.
Team & Work Environment
Fast-paced production setting with set quotas or deadlines.
Work may be performed independently or as part of a team.
Physical Effort
Effort Requirements
Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials (up to 50 lbs).
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
Standing or walking for extended periods.
Performing repetitive tasks with hands and arms.
Tasks require good hand/finger dexterity and may require reaching outward and above shoulders.
Employees may be required to handle sharp or abrasive material.
Mental & Cognitive Effort
Attention to detail for quality control and safety compliance.
Following complex instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Problem-solving for minor machine malfunctions or production issues.
Pace & Productivity Expectations
Meeting production quotas and deadlines.
Working under pressure in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
