Labourers (Junior & Senior)
Department: Lil’wat Construction Enterprises
Reporting to: Mines & Services Manager
Location: Project-dependent
Lil’wat Construction Enterprises is seeking reliable and safety‑focused Labourers at both the Junior and Senior levels to support construction and civil works projects. This role performs physically demanding manual labour in support of crews, tradespeople, and equipment operators. Level assignment reflects experience, judgment, and ability to work independently and lead by example.
Common Core Responsibilities (Both Levels)
Perform general construction labour under site supervision
Load, unload, and move construction materials to work areas
Assist with formwork, scaffolding, ramps, shoring, barricades, and site setup
Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
Assist tradespeople and heavy equipment operators as directed, including signaling and attachment setup
Support excavation, pipe alignment, grading, demolition, and debris removal
Operate basic tools and equipment such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, mixers, compressors, and pumps
Maintain site cleanliness and assist with hazardous material or spill cleanup as trained
Complete daily paperwork and follow all health and safety requirements
Wear required PPE at all times and arrive ready for work
Common Qualifications and Attributes (Both Levels)
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive manual labour
Able to work outdoors in variable and adverse weather conditions
Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
Explicit communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
Proven reliability, punctuality, and time management
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Ability to travel as required
Class 5 Driver’s Licence an asset; clear driver’s abstract required for driving duties
Junior Labourer
Focus: Learning, reliability, and effective execution under direction.
Expected Capability:
Follows instructions and works diligently as part of a crew
Anticipates basic crew needs and seeks guidance when unsure
Demonstrates safe work habits and growing task competence
Contributes positively to site productivity and team culture
Typical Experience:
Entry‑level or developing construction labourer
Prior construction experience an asset
Senior Labourer
Focus: Independent execution, problem‑solving, and informal leadership.
Expected Capability:
Works with minimal supervision and manages assigned tasks independently
Anticipates work needs, identifies issues, and contributes practical solutions
Supports task planning and work sequencing
Leads by example, sets standards for safety, quality, and pace
Provides informal direction and support to junior labourers
Typical Experience:
Minimum 5 years of construction labourer experience
Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and sound judgment
Level Assignment
Appointment as Junior or Senior Labourer will be based on experience, demonstrated capability, and operational requirements.
