Intelligent Controls & Automation (ICA) Technician
Location: Brantford, Ontario – Greater Toronto Fulfillment Centre (GTFC)

We are looking to fill a future vacancy for an Intelligent Controls & Automation (ICA) Technician. This is an on-shift role with 12‑hour shifts that may require early morning, evening, and overnight work.

Responsibilities

Participate in initiatives to identify and eliminate inefficiencies within technology zones.

Act as a subject‑matter expert, guiding the development and deployment of proven operational standards.

Schedule and lead training sessions to enhance team capabilities, both onsite and offsite.

Drive loss‑elimination and change‑management projects.

Support escalation efforts for chronic losses and work collaboratively to build continuous‑improvement practices.

Engage in technical projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall plant performance.

Work Hours
Able to work 12‑hour shifts on a bi‑weekly rotation schedule. Day shift: 6:00 am – 6:30 pm; Night shift: 6:00 pm – 6:30 am. Overtime may be required on weekends and/or holidays.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in a relevant technical field.





Minimum high‑school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical or electrical engineering or related field preferred.

Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Willingness to work rotating shifts and wear required personal protective equipment.

Knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, HMI systems, and process control.

Able to read and use electrical schematics and single‑line drawings.

Applied electrical and controls skills in an industrial environment.

Proficiency in maintaining operational standards and ensuring they are documented and followed.

Maintain accurate records and data.

Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical capabilities.

Physical Requirements

Lift, lower, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs.

Flex, extend, and rotate neck; work at heights; climb stairs, ladders, platforms.

Stand, sit, or walk for long periods on surfaces such as concrete, gravel, asphalt.

Twist, bend at knees, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and reach.

Adhere to safety requirements, wear PPE, and respond to alarms and signals.

Operate a computer, keyboard, phone, scanners, and electronic interfaces.

Enter and work in enclosed areas; work in extreme temperatures.

Learn terminology and functions of machine components.

Compensation
Starting pay: $39.32 per hour.
