Description:

The Lift Operations Assistant Supervisor is in a highly visible role at the resort and maintains a high-functioning work environment via the safe, efficient, dependable operation of the lift systems. The Assistant is focused on safety, efficiency, productivity, while being approachable and courteous. The Assistant Supervisor reports to the Lift

Operations Supervisor or designate and liaises frequently with Lift Maintenance, and all mountain departments.

Essential Functions:

Assisting with overseeing the training, work, and actions of the Lift Operations department in conjunction or in the absence of the Supervisor. Maintaining a positive department culture e.g., planning, scheduling, operating, maintaining, cleaning, loading/unloading functions. Attention to detail in critical aspects of operations is required.

Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities

Assisting in timely completion of documentation e.g., daily logs, maintenance logs, employee training, PM records, safe work plans, investigation/inspections.

Assisting in interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, termination, and scheduling of team members.

Communicating unusual operating conditions e.g., mechanical, operational, environmental.





Communicating and adhering to company initiatives, policies, relevant legislation, and manufacturer requirements e.g., OHS, Z98 code, Canada National Parks Act, Sunshine Employee Handbook.

Timely and accurate reporting of all incidents and deficiencies to appropriate departments/personnel.

Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

Experience/Requirements:

Proven ability to lead a team, be self-motivated, possess good time management skills.

Must have a positive, mature, and friendly attitude along with being neat, alert, punctual and dependable.

Willing/able to perform all duties or departmental tasks.

Prepared to work flexible schedules e.g., weekends, holidays, nights, extended hours.

Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions e.g., appropriate footwear, layers, gloves.

Calm under pressure and patient.

Effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally and in a confidential capacity.

Maintain professional conduct when acting as a company representative on or off duty, and online.

Effectively provide training, support, and assistance to coworkers.

Assisting in conducting, attend, chaperone, and actively participate in meetings, training, and team events.

Computer skills - experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs, data entry.





Ensure department functions are successfully completed in a timely manner.

Additional Considerations:

Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.

Requires standing/walking for long periods of time, trunk rotation, frequent lifting (up to 30kg), pushing/pulling (up to 45kg), kneeling, crouching. Routinely climb inclined stairs up to 5m or work at heights up to 5m, hike and move around in an alpine environment.

This role maintains/operates machinery, snowmobiles, light passenger vehicles, and hand/powered tools.

This role works around moving equipment.

Ability to ski or snowboard is required. Skiing or snowboarding for work requires completion of a competency test, skiing and riding professionally, and is restricted to designated runs.

Skiing or snowboarding equipment used for work must be in good operating condition, meet Sunshine Village equipment requirements, and will be tested throughout the season (other sliding on snow equipment use is not permitted).

Required uniform pieces (liner, jacket, pants, toque/hat, collared shirt, polo) are provided.

This role has potential exposure to industrial chemicals.

This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook and Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
