Basic Function and Scope:
The Technician is responsible for the collection of specimens for the Laboratory, laboratory technical support and application of cardiopulmonary services.
Hours of Work:
All shifts
Pay Rate:
$28.06-$32.30
Qualifications & Requirements Education
Post-secondary education in a related field;
Secondary School Graduation Diploma;
Current B.C.L.S. certification.
Experience
Previous training and recent experience in phlebotomy.
Required Skills
Must meet qualifications of the Laboratory Specimen Collection Centre Licensing Act, R.S.O. 1990, Ontario Regulation 45/22;
Demonstrated knowledge of phlebotomy;
Computer literate and good keyboarding skills;
Good organizational skills;
Demonstrated ability to perform work accurately and efficiently;
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment;
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
Must have previous proven valuable performance and attendance record.
Physical Requirements
The applicant must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
