Job Title: Long Haul Driver

Job Type: Full time

Location: Moncton, NB

Shifts: Monday to Friday, start time at 8am, weekends as needed

Wage: $27.00/hour

Job Overview

The role requires compliance with Canadian and U.S. Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, border crossing procedures, customs documentation, and all federal and provincial/state transportation laws. Drivers must maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers, border officials, and regulatory agencies, while prioritizing safety, cargo security, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle to transport medical waste across international (Canada-U.S.) routes, primarily to Curtis Bay- South Baltimore, Maryland.
- Complete 2-3 trips per week, including overnight stays in the tractor sleeper cab
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical or safety issues and report defects to the Transportation Supervisor
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic driver logbooks (HOS) using a mobile application
- Verify all materials are properly packaged and match the packaging slip prior to departure




- Accurately complete and maintain manifests and shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations
- Ensure proper handling and securement of regulated medical waste in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and supervisors regarding trip status, delays, or issues
- Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures
- Report any incidents, defects, or safety concerns promptly

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 (AZ) Driver's License
- Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Training Certificate.
- Valid FAST Card
- Minimum 2+ years of commercial driving experience
- Clean driver's abstract and strong safety record
- Experience with cross-border transportation (preferred)
- Knowledge of TDG regulations and hazardous materials handling (asset)
- Ability to complete electronic logs and documentation accurately
- Robust attention to detail and organizational skills

Working Conditions

- Frequent long-haul travel between Canada and the United States
- Overnight stays required in sleeper cab
