What you will do:

Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, King's Head Inn staff are responsible for ensuring a seamless - and delicious - experience at our on-site restaurant. We are looking to add both Prep Cooks and Prep Workers to our dedicated and tenured staff!

As a Prep Cook you will prepare and cook high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and consistency. Prep Cooks work as part of a team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests visiting the King's Head Inn as well as for our tour groups and events, like meetings or weddings.

Some duties and responsibilities include:

- Preparing food and cooking
- Preparing ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
- Cooking items according to menu and guest dietary requirements
- Multi-tasking various back-of-the-house duties
- Labeling and stocking ingredients and food items so they can be organized and easily accessible
- Assisting in inventory counts monthly and as needed and properly recording any waste
- Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
- Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly
- Complying with sanitation guidelines

As a Prep Worker, you will provide friendly, attentive service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and creating a welcoming dining experience. These servers represent the hospitality of the King's Head Inn by ensuring every guest receives courteous, efficient,



and memorable service.

Some duties and responsibilities include:

- Assisting in the preparation of food
- Helping kitchen staff with simple food preparation tasks, such as peeling and preparing vegetables, as needed
- Calculating totals and accepting customer payments using food services software
- Welcoming visitors and answering any questions about the Inn and the menu
- Taking orders and serving food and beverages in a friendly and hospitable manner
- Maintaining a clean dining room by cleaning dishes, trays, tables, floors etc.
- Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures as per industry standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Assisting in inventory counts as needed and properly recording waste
- Liaising with other functions of the site, attending meetings, and assisting in operations as required

Who you are:

You are a dynamic and enthusiastic person with a passion for the hospitality industry. You are self-motivated and possess excellent interpersonal skills. You have a keen eye for detail, solid problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations with grace.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Required Competencies:

- Completion of grade 10 and related experience
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to have:

- Food safety certification
- Responsible Beverage certification

Wage:

Prep Worker: $25.67 per hour
Prep Cook: $26.87 per hour

- Kitchen environment: Occasional mild exposure to heat, to cold and water, long periods of standing
- Standard hours of work: Shift work with variable hours including daytime, evening and weekend shifts
