What does the LOB do?
The team supports CIBC's in-house trading and risk platform and partners closely with Treasury and Capital Markets Front Office stakeholders. The group provides business analysis support across Global Derivatives, Fixed Income, and Treasury initiatives, acting as the liaison between business users and technology teams to deliver strategic enhancements and project initiatives
Reason the role is open?
This role is being opened to support an active project currently underway while also backfilling responsibilities as the hiring manager transitions to a broader mandate. The successful candidate will become the lead Treasury-focused BA supporting ongoing initiatives and future business demand
What project will this contractor be working on?
Initially, the contractor will support a project already in flight within the Treasury technology space. Longer term, they will act as the lead Treasury Business Analyst supporting multiple initiatives involving Treasury operations, financial instruments, trading/risk systems, and stakeholder-driven enhancements across the in-house trading and risk platform.
Team (# of members, culture, etc)
The team consists of approximately 15-20 members supporting Capital Markets and Treasury technology initiatives. The environment is collaborative and fast-paced, with significant interaction across business and technology teams.
Team members are expected to be self-sufficient, adaptable, and capable of working directly with senior front-office stakeholders

Job Description
CIBC Capital Markets Technology is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Global Derivatives & Fixed Income Technology team. This individual will serve as the lead Treasury-focused BA supporting strategic initiatives across CIBC's trading and risk technology ecosystem.
The successful candidate will partner closely with Treasury, Trading, Risk, and Technology stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, support project delivery, and drive technology solutions that align with evolving business needs.
This role requires a strong understanding of financial instruments and capital markets products, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate independently as a senior individual contributor.
The successful candidate will become the primary point of contact for Treasury-related initiatives within the team's trading and risk platform.
Responsibilities include:
Leading business analysis activities across Treasury and Capital Markets projects.
Gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements.
Acting as primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.
Supporting project delivery from requirements through implementation.
Performing business and data analysis to support decision-making.
Participating in solution design discussions and data modeling activities.
Driving initiatives with minimal supervision while managing multiple stakeholder groups.
Supporting enhancements related to treasury operations, funding and liquidity management, and fund transfer pricing

Robust understanding of financial instruments, including:
Interest Rate Swaps
Swaptions
Futures
Bonds
Repos
8-10+ years of Business Analysis experience
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience working directly with Front Office and Trading users
Proven ability to function as an independent senior individual contributor
Lead BA experience leading requirements and project workstreams
Business and data analysis experience
Data modeling experience
Capital Markets domain expertise
