Who Are You? Reporting to the General Foreman, the General Labourer is required to perform general labour and maintenance work and comply with workplace safety regulations and other Company policies and procedures.
What Will You Do? Readand interpretwork orders
Followdirections givenon work ordersand by co-workers
Transportraw materials and finished metal products manually, using hoists or other devices
Sortmetal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials
Grind and deburr sharp edges from metal parts using hand and power tools
Clean and maintain the work areas and equipment
Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
Participate in building maintenance, including landscaping and winter duties
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
Performother duties as required
A minimum of 6 months of related experience
Knowledge of general safety practices




General knowledge of basic tools and equipment
Communication skills to read, write, listen, and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels
Interpersonal skills work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
Time management skills to productively complete work and meet all expected deadlines
Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination skills
Learns quickly and is willing to ask questions
Safety conscious
Follows instructions thoroughly and uses good judgment
Physically fit to lift items weighing up to 20 kg.
