Job Description As the Manager, Product (Locomotive Systems), you will report to the Manager, Engineering & Products and oversee a team of engineers and software developers responsible for designing, developing, and delivering industry‑leading freight and transit electronics solutions. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams—including product management, operations, and customer support—to ensure our solutions meet evolving customer needs. Responsibilities Define and maintain product vision, roadmap, and strategy; create and maintain product STRAP for locomotive performance enhancement systems (QES‑III, Axle Gen, AESS, CHM, etc.). Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to inform product decisions. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development teams. Establish and coordinate work plans and delivery timelines, drafting project management plans, communications plans, and other start‑up documentation. Manage end‑to‑end project delivery, including quoting, planning, execution, and risk management. Coordinate project meetings, interface with internal and external teams, document agendas and minutes, and manage project risks, actions, and issues. Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure timely and high‑quality product releases. Prepare proposal materials and support engineering to meet design criteria and contract specifications. Track contract terms, deliverables, milestone payments, and project metrics; deliver monthly, quarterly, and yearly milestone payments to meet financial targets. Lead and mentor a cross‑functional engineering team, conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Manage resource allocation and team capacity planning. Communicate project progress to customers and internal stakeholders.



Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering. 5+ years of engineering experience in product or project management roles, with customer service experience. 2+ years of sales experience. Experience in rail or transportation industries (strong asset). Ability to travel internationally to customer sites (10‑25%). Strong background in project management with a proven track record of delivering high‑quality, efficient, customer‑focused solutions. Strong understanding of electrical and software development processes and technologies. Proficient in ISO9001 and CMMI standards and their implementation. Excellent project management and resource allocation skills. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams. Experience in business development and contributing to sales and profitability goals. Team building and management skills. Effective presentation and communication skills. Physical Demands Occasional travel to customer sites; may involve standing, climbing, and wearing PPE. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work at a lab bench performing hands‑on testing and troubleshooting. Require manual dexterity for assembling and maintaining test setups. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and visually inspect hardware devices. Must follow ESD and safety protocols in an electronics lab environment. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $95,800 – $120,000. Prorated salary may vary based on experience, skills, location, and market factors. The base pay range is subject to change.
